Cindy wanted to share some special thank you's.

What I wish I would have thought to say………

I wanted to write and thank you all so much for your very thoughtful congrats and words of encouragement. I can honestly say that I have never been more surprised than when I heard my name called at the Dove awards. I am so thankful to still be writing songs and getting to hang out with some of the best folks on the planet.

You know, being nominated is a strange thing because on some level, even if you don’t think you’ve got a snowballs chance.. you kind of try and think through what you might say ( feeling goofy all the while) I had thought through a list of people in my mind that I COULD NOT forget. Of course.. they tell 300 times that you only have 2 minutes ( or something like that) and you’re shaking and your hands are sweating and your trying not to cry or look like a dork so… the fact that you can speak at all is miraculous….

So… I did thank a lot of people that I felt have been the most instrumental part of my creative life of writing but I did leave off several important people that I would now like to thank.

My Fellow nominees for songwriter which all deserved to win as much, if not more than me.

*Mark Hall who is a heck of nice guy and an amazing talent. Love the song east to west. Love what it says.
*Brandon Heath who is my bud and I was SO excited that he won new artist ( even though I was also pulling for Mandisa) I love, love Brandon Heath and his voice and his writing.. He is so wonderful!
*Leeland. I was blown away by him and the band’s first record( haven’t heard the new one yet). Blown away. To me, his ability in writing is so beyond his years. He is the real, world class deal. I am so excited to see what happens and can’t wait to hear all the songs he is yet to write.
*Bernie Herms. This man is one of the most gracious, precious, gifted people I have ever known. I have had the pleasure of writing w/ Bernie. He is amazing. I Love him and his gorgeous wife. Congrats to all of you on your many successes and for inspiring me and everyone else.

I want to thank the wonderful artists, new and seasoned that I am so fortunate to write with . I am so blessed to get to be a small part of their ministry.Esp as of recent…. Mark Shultz, Mandisa, Brit Nicole, Travis Cotrrell,( chip?) tala lynn, Julie Roberts,Daniel Kirkley The Issacs, Micheal Smith etc……..

Point of Grace for doing such a beautiful job on the song and working so hard for it to be heard by so many. ( I did thank them during the country song acceptance but would love to say a little more as I just love me me some POG) Thank you Shelly, Heather, Denise and Lee for being such gorgeous, funny, beautiful smart, talented women, I am blessed to know you.

Derek Jones, derek jones, derek jones- How could i forget derek jones, for working " How you live" so hard at both christian and country radio. I owe you such a steak dinner and I love you so much my friend:)

I should have thanked my mom for giving me so many gifts.. she is such a strong and Godly woman and an amazing songwriter in her own right, Thank you Mama.

I should have thanked all the A&R guys who call me to write with their artists and keep me on my toes. Brad, John, Guy, Jason, Terry, Judy Stadkee etc…. thank you!!

I should have thanked my brothers and sisters for putting up with me for all those years, playing the piano all hours of the night.  Thank you Sherry, Tammy Haze, Mike, Sam and Samuel for always being there for me.

I should have thanked every writer I have ever sat in a room with that taught me so much about writing… to name a few of my heros.. Wayne Kirkpatrick, Brent Bourgeious, Jeremy Bose, Barry Dean, Mark Hammond, Drew Ramsey, Dottie Rambo, Dolly Parton, Phil Madiera , Mark Shultz Chris Rodriguez, Matthew Gerrard Jonathan Kingham and so many more… Thank you.

Almost Finally… I should have thanked the people in my life that keep me straight, and on course in every way….Clay Schaffner, Linda Wornell, Lelsey Burbridge,  Lesley Lenthall, Michelle McNeil, Reba Baskett and Leslie “angel” Linebaugh.

And FINALLY Thank you to the radio stations who have played my songs and for every person who has ever given it an ear.

Thank you, thank you thank you:) God is so good.

I am so blessed to know and love each and everyone of you.

I am certain I have forgotten someone…. To er’ is human, to forgive is divine.
