God is good.
It has been too long since I have come to Blogville.
I hope all is well with all of you in your world.
I have been up in Canada in the midst of a remodeling and redecorating mode...I had a vision for white and simplicity so me and a gallon of creamy white paint have been constant companions.
Savannah has been my helper, holding the umbrella over me like a lady in waiting to keep the Alberta sun off my brow while I paint on the green ( more white now) grass in our front yard.
What was i thinking?? I don't know but it's too late to turn back now.... we have painted rooms and floors and lamp stands and armories and birdhouses... there is no end to all this.
I am also in the throws of Beth Moore's Believing God Bible study with my neighbors and it is more wonderful and powerful than I can tell you. I LOVE that woman and how she is allowing God to use her life.

ok.. let's talk about..... WALL E
We saw this movie last night and it was so INCREDIBLE. I was so amazed by it and the story telling and the message. wow.
If you have not seen this movie you must go!!!
Pixar is so incredible( the animation studio that wrote, directed and animated the movie) I once heard an interview ( with Pixar) apparently, there are a few Christians on staff there. I always see such a positive message in all their movies. (other movies.. Monsters Inc, Toy Story 1 and 2, The Incredibles, Finding Nemo)
Wall E also made me so so thankful that we still have grass to run through, legs to walk on and I had the uncontrollable urge to go re-cycle something.
Even if you're an adult... go see it.... a great movie, great story telling and Wall E and Eve are so so so cute. Who knew a robot could bring forth such much emotion!

Hi there.
God is good.
I am trusting that everyone had a fun and safe July 4th.
I was here in Canada.... no fireworks on the 4th but July 1st there were a few sparks when Canadians celebrate Canada day. Although I love so many Canadian holidays and customs there are a few American holidays I always miss :-( Being a part of when we're here in northern country and one of those is Independence day. I use to love to buy Martha Stuart's July issue and dream of making all those cakes and deserts that look like an American Flag... all the yummy southern dishes that seem impossible to eat when it's 100 degrees outside but we eat it anyway!!
Sigmund and the girls and I celebrating by just being together.. we went to a place here called Discovery Canyon. It is a part of Red Deer River that has been sectioned off... it's a series of waterfalls safe for the whole family that you ride down on inner tubes. Could life get any better I ask you... a hot day, a cooler full of snacks and an inner tube!!!!!!
Please forgive me for not being so regular on my blogs. I have been taking a bit of a rest and just trying to focus on hanging with my family. I hope you are all enjoying the summer.
Oh and I can't remember if I mentioned the book I just finished reading for the second time, 'The Secret Life of Bees'. This book is so amazing so well written. I love love love it..... and recommend it... a bit of language when it seems necessary. It reminds me so much of my all time favorite novel, 'To Kill a Mocking Bird'. Presently I am reading 'Home to Holly Springs' Jan Karon's new novel about father Tim and it is so great.

I just wanted to share with you today my friends a few verses from the daily light and hope they bring some peace and encouragement to you as they did to me today.
Father, I desire that they.. whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold Your glory which You have given Me. I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day. He who has began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Do you not know that those who run a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we an imperishable crown. Lay aside every weight that so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. Please forgive me for my lack of blogging.
It has been a crazy few weeks, mainly because we have just arrived in Canada for our summer stay here and the week before the trip we make every year is always, absolutely, unquestionably INSANE. God is good, I know, because somehow He carried us through it.
So we are here in our yellow farm house on the hill. The breeze is blowing the birds are singing, we had breakfast out in the sunshine and I cannot tell you how happy I am to be somewhere that allows me to work less and spend more time with my girls and Sigmund.I get to actually prepare decent meals, water my flowers, read a book (reading secret life of bees again.. Love that book!!!) and feel like a real human being again.
Simple pleasures are without a doubt the best things of all.. can I get an amen?
I pray you each are well and enjoying some simple pleasures for yourself.
